Nature Walk
Today, Drama King wanted to do his nature walk so Daddy grabbed his camera and we took one of our two dogs with us on the walk. We made a circle around our home which led us through the wash behind our house. Drama King took his “camera” which is one of those fake cartoon (Cars in this case) camera that just make the camera click sound and a bucket to collect any flowers or seeds he came across. We saw lots of pretty colored flowers and a few animals. We’ll redo this walk a) when it’s a little cooler outside and b) when more things are out and in bloom. Drama King had a blast no matter how little we saw.

Nature Walk File
Drama King loves to walk so I thought when the animals are out more frequently, Daddy could take Drama King out for a nature walk. I thought afterward, Drama King and I could make a book from his nature walk. Daddy could take pictures of everything they see. We’ll put the picture in the book and then look up info on the plant or animal he found. So, I created a file for him to print out so we can make his nature walk book. I made it so that anyone else can use it. You can print out as many of the second page as needed to complete the book. I also made it generic so you don’t even have to do a nature walk. You could just find pictures from magazines, books, online, etc and make the book anytime of the year.
It’s available here.
It’s Fair Time Again
My mom and I took the boys to the county fair. We got the boys $20 in tickets which translated to 5 rides each. They both went on the pirate ship, pink elephants, choo choo train, dragon coaster, and the rocket coaster. Little T got an extra ride on the 4×4 trucks because he got in line and Drama King decided last minute that he didn’t want to go on that ride. Then, Drama King refused to go on any ride without Little T so we had to get $2 more in tickets for Little T to ride with Drama King on the rocket coaster.

Little T’s Trike-a-thon Update
The Trike-a-thon was today and we just got an email from his teacher saying he did 14 laps and that his peers were cheering him on and yelling ‘Go Little T’ the whole time. I will update on a total donation once I have collected all donations.
Today’s Schooling
Today we reviewed colors, shapes and learned some new social skills.
Drama King surprises me with how many colors he can name. He even puts light or dark in front of colors if the marker/crayon/image is lighter or darker than the standard color. We haven’t really concentrated on shapes so he knows quite a few for not really “teaching” them.Drama King started out watching Noggin. We watched Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends. The first episode, we learned teasing can make your friends and other people lose their smile however, apologizing to the person you teased can help them find their smile again. The second episode was about things that sound too good to be true might in fact not be true. The little bugs wanted so much to get a magic carpet (an unusual multi-colored leaf) from the twin ants who are always trying to get something for nothing. They ask Miss Spider (mom) for three seeds to buy the carpet and were told that they would have to find their own seeds. They headed out after being warned that sometimes things that sound too good to be true will be disappointing in the end. The little bugs could only find 2 seeds so they opted to share one seed for dinner and save the other to buy the carpet. Once they buy the carpet, they find out that it’s not magical and in fact causes everyone who bought one to have an itchy reaction to the carpet.
