A Clean House

Spur of the moment cleaning went on in our house today. I vacuumed the boys’ room, the family room and the hallway to our room. Tim shampooed the living room hallway to the boys’ room, the boys’ room, the family room and the hallway to our room. After giving some time to dry, I vacuumed the room Tim shampooed to pick up the remaining cat and dog hair that was left behind. We pulled any movable furniture to the dining room so we could vacuum and shampoo the floors.

Tomorrow, I will put all the furniture back where it came from and put up some more of the wire cubes for toy storage. I found space to put two 2×2 cubes and maybe one or two cubes on the blocks that are already in use. Organizing the toys into general categories and grouping similar toys will help the boys during playtime. Maybe I won’t hear as many “Where is x toy?” or “Why was y toy here?” in the future.  One can wish.

Our Thanksgiving Day

We had an uneventful holiday today. Drama King opted to stay at Grandma Deb’s last night so when we woke up this morning, we called so she could come over. When she arrived, she said she had to fight with Drama King to bring him home. Apparently, he was having too much fun being in charge of everything without brother being around. He spent the first half hour or so sulking and avoiding Little T. Drama King came around when I put on Alvin and the Chipmunks for him to watch. He has seen the movie about a dozen times and he still laughs at everything.

The turkey took a little longer than we expected but came out wonderful. On the side we had salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, red hot sweet potatoes, stuffing, stuffed celery, and deviled eggs. For dessert we had pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake and strawberry rhubarb pie.

Drama King fell asleep before the meal was on the table so we let him sleep. He hasn’t been himself lately and I wonder if he’s getting enough sleep. He has complained that Little T snores and wakes him up all night. I’ve thought about spitting them up at night by putting Little T in their room and Drama King in our room. After everyone had eaten, Drama King woke up and got a little food.

We all chatted around the table about Christmas and stuff the boys need and don’t need. This year, we’re going to focus on outdoor toys and equipment for the boys. They are overflowing with toys inside since we’d never had a yard until we moved into the house. If the price is right, I think we’ll build the boys a sandbox for the yard. If not, I guess we’ll do some smaller outdoor stuff like cars, trucks, dump trucks, and anything else that looks like it’ll last through the summer heat.

After we all talked, mom headed home and we finished up some of the work we’d been putting off.

Prepping For Thanksgiving

After a few busy days, I think we are prepared for Thanksgiving. Well, at least the food has been bought. I have a lot of cleaning to do over the next 24 hours to prepare the house for guests. I mopped the kitchen floor tonight, moved the dogs’ food and water out of the dining area, finished the shopping, and still had time to do some ‘real’ work. Tomorrow, I have to straighten and vacuum the living and family room, mop the dining room floor, and vacuum the hallways. Oh, and straighten and mop the bathroom. The boys will be helping out with the family room since that is their play room.

Some Updates

I haven’t updated in a while due to converting to a new script so I thought I’d update now. Not a lot has been going on out of the norm. The boys have been, well, boys. They are hyper, rough-housing, rambunctious little boys.

Conversion Complete

I’ve converted from the old news script to a WordPress script. So far, I am much happier with the new script. I have created our own theme based on a classic layout. I’ve thought about a complete redo on the site but haven’t really thought how I could make it any better.
