Little T Turns 6 Today
It’s hard to believe that 6 years ago, we were eagerly anticipating the arrival of our first baby. We were unaware of what tough path laid ahead of us over the next few years. We began to notice that he was behind in speech related activites around his first birthday. His pediatrician explained, as we already knew, that all kids develop differently but to keep an eye on his speech. By his second birthday, he has increased his speech but not to the expectations of average toddlers. We were referred to a speech pathologist for an evaluation. We were not surprised when we were given the diagonis of a speech disorder. Now we had a name for what we already knew, Childhood Apraxia of Speech.

Little T Is Almost Packed
Little T will be joining Grandma Deb this year on her annual cruise with KIIM fm. This year, Neal McCoy will be joining them on their adventures to Astoria, Oregon and up into Canada. They’ll be stopping in Vancouver, British Columbia and Victoria, British Columbia. I have gathered everything that will go into the carry on luggage, including his daily vitamins and “attitude” drops. I, also, printed instructions for Grandma Deb and put them in the container with his medicine.
I plan to have him entirely packed before we go to Gaslight Theatre tomorrow to celebrate his birthday. It will ease my mind to know that he is packed and ready to go which will leave me time to worry. LOL. We have to swing by the post office to see if Little T’s passport arrived tomorrow but other than that, he’s almost ready to go.
It will be a nice change of pace to have only one child for a week but we’ll miss him at the same time.
Being A Mom To Boys…
When things happen in the house that make me think…Moms to boys have a rare glimpse into the male psyche before it becomes too hard to understand and then I think of the email that occasionally shows up in my email box. I decided to post it here for easy finding when I need to remember that it can get worse.

New Paint Job
Drama King asked ever so nicely to paint a “project” so out came the paint, paper and brushes. He took out his own scissors (the ones etched with his name) and completed his project. He said he wanted to finish “touching up” his project later so I let him keep the paint out. About an hour later, Tim and I heard the garage door opening and closing so Tim went to check it out. A few seconds later I hear him scream for me to come help him.
I get up and walk towards the garage while trying to figure out what what going on. When I got to the garage, I saw it. The boys decided to paint our van and the garage wall. Thankfully, we only buy washable paints and the boys were able to easily wipe off the paint with a little water. Of course after an incident like that, we attempt to figure out who’s idea and why? This round it was Drama King’s idea because he doesn’t like the color of the van and the garage is unpainted unlike the rest of the house. At least they had a reason!
Fab Friday & Sporty Saturday
Angels & Demons hit theaters Friday and of course it was the first thing on my list to do. Grandma Deb brought her puppies over to play while we went to see the movie. The boys stayed home with Grandma Cindy and FIL. We hit a matinee so we saved a few dollars on admission. We picked up a 2009 Loyalty cup ($1 refills all year) and some popcorn. My mom got the kids snack pack. We walked into the theater about 20 minutes early and I expected it to be busier but there were lots of great seats available. We found an aisle seat and got situated while watching the previews. Hubby and I hadn’t eaten anything so we wolfed down the popcorn and drink so hubby ran out to get refills before the movie started. The movie started a few minutes after he got back.
