I’ve decided to try out a food/recipe meme to see if this will work better for sharing recipes. I’ll share a favorite recipe each Monday. It may be something we recently had on our menu or just a family favorite. I’ve already shared our Chicken Alfredo recipe and a semi-swedish meatball recipe and a few others. At the end of the recipe, I will also share our weekly meal plan which just may give you a glimpse into next weeks Mouthwatering Monday. So here we go… This week I thought I’d share a few recipes that we keep in our everyday recipe binder which is also home to our weekly menu.
Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
Ingredients
1 tbsp Hidden Valley® Salad Dressing and Seasoning Mix
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp Season All
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Dash of paprika
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup mayo
Directions
Whisk all ingredients together. We use a dressing shaker so the kids can make the dressing without spilling it. For best taste, put dressing in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
Makes 16 ounces.
Dry Onion Soup Mix
Ingredients
3/4 cup dry onion flakes
1/3 cup beef bullion granules
4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp Season All
Directions
Combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container. Use within 6 months.
Makes 5 ounces. To make onion dip, mix 1 ounce of dry onion soup mix with 16 ounces of sour cream. We also use dry onion soup mix in some of our recipes that I’ll share in the future.
Lemonade
Ingredients
2.5 cups Splenda®
2.5 cups lemon juice
10 cups water
Directions
Mix all ingredients. If you prefer using sugar, dissolve 2.5 cups sugar into 2.5 cups of water before combining with lemon juice and remaining water (7.5 cups).
Makes one gallon. Serve over ice.
