We recently switched from cable (Cox Communications) to Directv. At first we expected to have issues with using satellite but to our surprise it has outperformed cable. We have been having issues with Cox for years. Poor signal in some rooms, etc. It wasn’t just us either as I am aware of some other families having the same issue. Cox would send someone out, it is better for a few weeks, and it gets bad again. We have been with Directv for almost a year now and so far only two minor issues that lasted a few minutes during some heavy storms with high winds.

Currently Directv is offering Choice Ultimate which is the plan we have for $34.99 per month which includes 225+ digital channels. You can add whole house dvr which is a great service for $10 per month. We have never had whole house dvr before and it is really nice being able to play a show from any room. The monthly price does include a discount you receive over the first 12 months.
They are currently including NFL Sunday Ticket for the season that just started which is normally $335 per season.
