Super Ad, Err… I mean Super Bowl Sunday

I haven’t watched a Super Bowl game in many years because I’ve had better things to do. This year, Tim was working and needed to be watching the game for his job so we watched it. And while I didn’t find the game all that interesting, I did find the commercials of interest.

I would have to say my favorite commercial was Google Parisian Love where they managed to show off their powerful search engine in a simple, yet effective way.

Some of my other favorites were NCIS / NCIS LA, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Snickers, and of course, the E-trade baby commercials. Although, my favorite E-trade baby commercial is the girlfriend one. “Milk-a-what?” I’m glad I didn’t have food or drink in my mouth because I would have spit it out laughing so hard.

Newton’s law of commercials states that for every great commercial there is an equally horrible commercial. And the Super Bowl had it’s fair share of bad, dumb or just plain “What the?” commercials, too. I’d have to say that some of the Doritos commercials, Boost Mobile shuffle, Jack in the Box, and all of the Go Daddy commercials top my list. Although, I can’t blame Doritos directly since the commercials were part of their Crash The Super Bowl promotion.

One commercial that seems to be causing a lot of controversy is the Tim Tebow one. I’m not sure why it’s causing so much controversy since there have been worse commercials. I get that is was a pro-life commercial. I know the story behind the commercial. I went to the site and watched the full story. The commercial was made out to be worse than reality so maybe that’s why I don’t get why people are up in arms over it.

What were you’re favorite ads? Least favorite?
